Shakih-al-Islam Dr.Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri

Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, born on February 19, 1951, in Jhang District, Punjab, Pakistan, is a prominent Islamic scholar and former politician. He founded Minhaj-ul-Quran International, an organization aimed at promoting a moderate interpretation of Islam and interfaith dialogue, which has branches in over 100 countries. Qadri also established Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) in 1989 and served as a Member of the National Assembly after winning elections in 1990.

An accomplished academic, Qadri has held the position of professor of international constitutional law at the University of the Punjab and has been an advisor on Islamic law for the Supreme Court and Federal Shariah Court of Pakistan. He has authored over 1,000 books and delivered more than 6,000 lectures in multiple languages, contributing significantly to Islamic scholarship. He has been recognized in every edition of The 500 Most Influential Muslims since its inception in 2009.

After resigning from the National Assembly in 2004 due to opposition to the policies of then-President Pervez Musharraf, Qadri moved to Canada in 2005. His work continues to focus on promoting religious moderation and education through his organization and public speaking engagements.
